Three Ways To Enjoy Autumn

on in Life on the water

We’re a few weeks into fall now, and it still seems like some people are in denial. That may be because they have yet to embrace all the wonderful things that the season has to offer. This week, we’re going to share a few of the things you can do to love autumn inside – and outside – of your home.

Fall decor

If you have the autumn blues, getting your home more ‘seasonally’ appropriate may help get you in the spirit. Decorative elements such as gourds, wreaths, pumpkins and earthy colours throughout your home, to whatever degree you’re comfortable with, are sure to help you come around.

Fall recipes

Root vegetables are in season; as the temperature begins to drop, butternut squash, hearty soups and delicious baking should definitely be on your must-make list. Here are some wonderful fall favourites sure to keep you warm – and full!

Fall activities

It’s the perfect time year to put on a sweater and enjoy the colours and smells of the great outdoors. Why not visit a local farm or pumpkin patch, or take in a local fall festival? APPLEFEST in Historic Downtown Bowmanville and the annual Pumpkin Bee are just two of the many opportunities to enjoy some great all-ages activities.

There’s so much to do and see this autumn. So, get out there – and make the most of the season!
